2015 Mercedes S600 unveiled with 530 HP

The Mercedes S-Class lineup continues to grow as the company has unveiled the 2015 S600 at the North American International Auto Show.

 

Designed to be the pinnacle of automotive excellence, the S600 is available exclusively as a long-wheelbase model that comes nicely equipped with the LED Intelligent Light System, Magic Body Control and a Driving Assistance Plus package that includes Active Lane Keeping Assist, Active Blind Spot Assist and BAS PLUS with Cross-Traffic Assist - among other things.

 

Power is provided by a twin-turbo 6.0-ltier V12 engine that develops 530 HP (390 kW) and 830 Nm (612 lb-ft) of torque. Performance specifications were not released but Mercedes confirmed the model has a start/stop system which enables it to average 11.1 L/100 km (21.1 mpg US / 25.4 mpg UK).

 

According to Mercedes' Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Ola K?llenius, "The S-Class has always been the embodiment of our claim to deliver the very best in terms of both technology and design and our flagship model, the S 600, epitomizes the focus of our development work, the 'Essence of Luxury', in a way that no other model can. Our customers in North America and Asia in particular will enjoy this new top model with its exciting V12 engine."
