Toyota committed to 2015 launch of fuel-cell vehicle, test car showcased at CES

Toyota brought to this year's CES a camouflaged prototype of its upcoming fuel cell production model due in 2015.

It's good to know Toyota is fully committed to become the world's first automaker to launch a production-scale fuel cell car, a launch which could pave the way for a whole new era as far as car fuels are concerned. Previewed last year by the FCV concept, a camo-wrapped prototype of the production model is exhibited in Las Vegas at the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show sitting next to the FCV.

The prototype was thoroughly tested by Toyota and managed to provide a driving range of approximately 300 miles (482 km) and conquered the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) task in around 10 seconds. The Japanese company says refueling the hydrogen tanks takes between 3 and 5 minutes.
