Suzuki unveils iM-4 & iK-2 concepts in Geneva
Suzuki has introduced the iM-4 and iK-2 concepts in Geneva, following last weekend's leak.
First up, the iM-4 concept is a small crossover featuring a minimalist design and a high ground clearance suitable to tackle rough terrains. It has received a "sunglass-like" front grille which interconnects the LED headlights while the A and B pillars have been blacked out. There's also a clamshell hood and a rear end taking styling cues from classic Suzuki models such as the Fronte Coupe and first Crevo.
Painted in Innocent White, the Suzuki iM-4 concept rides on 18-inch wheels with 215/45 R18 tires and has received a 4x4 system receiving power from a mild hybrid system incorporating a 1.2-liter DUALJET engine, an integrated starter generator and a lithium-ion battery pack. It benefits from a regenerative braking system and promises to offer great fuel efficiency for a car which has the following physical dimensions: 3693mm length, 1709mm width, 1566mm height and with a 2438mm wheelbase.
As for the iK-2 concept, this one is a compact hatchback based on a newly developed platform and it will receive a production version in 2016. It adopts a "Liquid Flow" design with expressive character lines and chrome accents combined with LED headlights and muscular fenders. It wears a Lightning Silver body color and has received a sloped rear window to enhance sportiness.
The Suzuki ik-2 concept is powered by a new 1.0-liter BOOSTERJET direct-injection gasoline engine while the production version will also get a mild hybrid system. The concept sits on 18-inch alloys wrapped around in 225/45 R18 tires and has the following dimensions: 4023mm length, 1920mm width, 1450mm height and with a 2520mm wheelbase.
