Elon Musk says updated Tesla Roadster will have almost 400-mile range
Tesla Motors CEO has disclosed some preliminary details about the updated Roadster.
In its current configuration, the Tesla Roadster's 6,831 lithium-ion cells provide enough juice for a range of around 245 miles (394 km) but next year's update will increase the maximum travelling distance without recharging to almost 400 miles (644 km).
Other upgrades have also been developed and will be detailed very soon and these might have something to do with the Roadster's performances so expect the acceleration and top speed numbers to be improved compared to today's 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) run in 3.9 seconds and 125 mph (201 km/h) maximum speed.
In related news, Elon Musk says the Tesla Model S will eventually receive a battery pack upgrade.
