Next-gen Chevrolet Camaro renderings have potential

The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro has been the subject of speculative digital illustration once again, prior to a production rumored to start in late 2015.

 

Spy photos of the American model have revealed it will have an evolutionary design that closely echoes its predecessor. These renderings by Camaro6 forum member Chazcron show a similar approach and feature a muscular profile, LED lights and slightly larger air intakes in the front bumper compared to the current model.

 

Details on the new Camaro are scarce at the moment but previous reports have suggested it will ride on the long-wheelbase Alpha platform that underpins the Cadillac ATS sedan and coupe. Engine options are expected to carryover, but there have been rumors about a new turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder unit with 272 bhp (202 kW) and 295 lb-ft (399 Nm) of torque.
