据外媒最新报道,下一代保时捷Boxster和Cayman将更名为保时捷718。几天前，保时捷研发部门主管Wolfgang Hatz宣布，入门级车型718的开发已经取消。但最近德媒报道，718这个名称仍将继续保留，只不过将应用于下一代Boxster和Cayman这两款车上。除了名称改变外，新车由于将搭载水平对置四缸引擎，起价将大幅降低。保时捷718很可能将作为2017款车型于2016年晚些时候发布。新车将搭载1.6升和2.5升四缸引擎，功率分别为156千瓦/210马力和268千瓦/360马力。另外中级版本将搭载一台2.0升引擎，功率213千瓦/286马力。

 

Next-gen Boxster and Cayman to be renamed Porsche 718

A new report indicates the next generation Porsche Boxster and Cayman will be sold with the "718" moniker.

 

It was only several days ago when Porsche head of research and development Wolfgang Hatz announced development of an entry-level model called 718 has been cancelled and now Automobile Magazine says the name will still be used but on the next-gen Boxster and Cayman duo. Aside from the moniker change, the new models will also come with a significantly lower starting price granted by the introducing of flat-four engines.

 

The Porsche 718 will likely be unveiled in the second half of 2016 prior to going on sale as a 2017MY. It is believed the new range of smaller four-cylinder engines will have an output ranging from a 1.6-liter with 210 bhp (156 kW) up to a 2.5-liter with 360 bhp (268 kW). There's also going to be a mid-range 2.0-liter outputting 286 bhp (213 kW).
