Peugeot 308 GTI reportedly coming next year with 270 bhp

In 2015 Peugeot will launch the most powerful GTI modification for its 308 model, according to a recent report.

 

AutoExpress says the vehicle will arrive late next year and will become the brand’s most powerful road car ever. It will feature a 1.6-liter turbo petrol unit with 270 bhp (201 kW), the same unit that powers the RCZ R. The engine will be mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox that will send the power to the front wheels.

 

To generate this output, the engine has been equipped with a new turbo, a crankcase, intakes and a modified exhaust system. The suspension and the brakes will also be retuned, while the equipment will also include a Torsen limited-slip differential.
