Range Rover HSE Td6 and Range Rover Sport HSE Td6 revealed in Detroit

Land Rover has introduced the Range Rover HSE Td6 and the Range Rover Sport HSE Td6 diesel models for the USA during the 2015 NAIAS.

 

Both vehicles are powered by a 3.0-liter diesel unit generating 254 HP (186 kW) and 596 Nm (440 lb-ft) of torque at 1750 rpm. The powerplant is mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox by ZF. This setup enables the Range Rover and the Range Rover Sport models in HSE Td6 specification to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 7.4 and 7.1 seconds respectively.

 

The manufacturer says the average fuel consumption is 32% better compared to the supercharged petrol V6 unit. The models will return 22 mpg (10.7 l/100 km) in the city and 28 mph (8.4 l/100 km) on the highway, which translates into 25 mpg (9.4 l/100 km) combined.
