Mercedes GLE 450 AMG Coupe unveiled with 362 bhp

Mercedes has introduced the GLE 450 AMG Coupe at the North American International Auto Show.

 

Designed to slot below the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 Coupe, the GLE 450 AMG has an aggressive body kit and 21-inch lightweight alloy wheels. The crossover also has an AIRMATIC air suspension, an adaptive damping system and an automatic lowering function which reduces the ride height at higher speeds.

 

Interior changes are limited but the GLE 450 AMG is distinguished by a nappa leather sports steering wheel, stainless steel pedals and carbon fiber trim with piano black accents. There's also a revised instrumentation that shows the crossover's longitudinal and lateral acceleration as well as the steering angle via a "photo-realistic motorsports graphic."

 

Power is provided by a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine that produces 367 PS (362 bhp / 270 kW) and 520 Nm (383 lb-ft) of torque. Mercedes declined to release detailed specifications but confirmed the engine is connected to a nine-speed automatic transmission and a rear-biased all-wheel drive system.
