Toyota claims exhaust water from Mirai safer than milk
Seiji Mizuno, designer of the Toyota Mirai’s fuel stack power generator, has disclosed the exhaust water from the vehicle is safer to drink than milk.
Autonews reports the Japanese company has tested the health effect of drinking the exhaust water in a special laboratory and the result is quite surprising. Compared to milk, the water from the Mirai contains much fewer organic impurities.
Still, Toyota recommends not drinking this water because it is the result of sucking in oxygen from the surrounding air and bonding it to hydrogen from the fuel tank. “You never know what the quality of the air intake is,” Mizuno commented.
The Toyota Mirai is scheduled to reach dealerships in Japan in April 2015, while European and US sales will begin later in the summer.
