
沃尔沃近日发布了一台功率达到335.5千瓦/450马力的2.0升四缸引擎。下一代XC90将搭载的T6涡轮和机械增压2.0升四缸引擎功率已经达到了239千瓦/320马力,但沃尔沃最近展示的这台引擎功率更强劲,达到450马力。目前这只是一台概念引擎,这台Drive-E引擎采用由电动涡轮压缩机驱动的两个并联涡轮增压器。压缩空气用于为并联涡轮增压器而非气缸提高转速。在这种结构下,双油泵可以产生250巴的压力将汽油喷射出去。由于这样的设计,可以完全消除涡轮迟滞现象。这台引擎由沃尔沃与奥地利AVL,日本电装和Polestar共同开发。目前这台Drive-E 2.0升引擎只是一台概念引擎,用于展示小排量高功率引擎的优势。
Volvo unveils 450 bhp four-cylinder 2.0-liter engine
Volvo has unveiled a concept for a four-cylinder, 2.0-liter engine which develops an impressive 450 bhp (335.5 kW).
The recently launched second generation XC90 can be had with a T6 turbocharged & supercharged four-cylinder 2.0-liter engine developing 320 bhp (239 kW) but now Volvo is showcasing an even more powerful four banger generating a whopping 450 bhp. Currently billed as a concept, the Drive-E motor is equipped with two parallel turbochargers that are fed by an electronically-powered turbo compressor.
The compressed air is used to spool up the two parallel turbochargers rather than being fed to the cylinders. In this configuration, the gasoline is fed by a dual fuel pump working at a 250-bar pressure. Thanks to this hardware arrangement, Volvo says they were able to completely eliminate turbo lag
Developed in collaboration with AVL, Denso and Polestar, the four-cylinder Drive-E 2.0-liter powertrain is for the moment only a concept to show the benefits of downsizing while adding more power.
