BMW 2-Series Active Tourer gains three new engines & all-wheel drive

BMW has announced plans to offer three new engines and an all-wheel drive system on the 2-Series Active Tourer.

 

First up, the 220i Active Tourer will have a 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine that develops 192 PS (141 kW) and 280 Nm (206 lb-ft) of torque. It enables the model to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 7.5 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 230 km/h (142 mph).

 

The 220d Active Tourer also has a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine but it's a diesel that develops 190 PS (140 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque.

 

Last but not least, there's a 216d Active Tourer with a 1.5-liter three-cylinder diesel engine that produces 116 PS (85 kW) and 270 Nm (199 lb-ft) of torque. This enable the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 10.6 seconds, hit a top speed of 195 km/h (121 mph) and average 3.8-3.9 L/100km (60.3-61.9 mpg US / 72.4-74.3 mpg UK).

 

Besides announcing the new engines, BMW confirmed plans to offer an all-wheel drive system on the 220d and 225i.
