2015 Dodge Viper SRT unveiled with more power & new special editions
Dodge has officially unveiled the 2015 Viper SRT.
Besides reverting to the Dodge name, there's a new GT variant which will slot between the Viper and Viper GTS. It features all the equipment from the entry-level model as well as a driver-selectable suspension and a five-mode electronic stability control system. The Viper GT also has Nappa leather / Alcantara seats and special accent stitching.
If you're looking for something more extreme, the Viper TA 2.0 Special Edition is based on the Viper SRT Time Attack and features a new Aerodynamics Package with carbon fiber front corner splitters and a larger rear wing which creates additional downforce. The model also has a race-tuned suspension, a carbon fiber X-brace, Brembo brakes and Sidewinder II wheels with Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires. Other highlights include Sabelt racing seats and orange accent stitching. Production will be limited 96 units and the model will be available exclusively in three colors: Competition Blue, Yorange and Venom Black.
Moving on, the Viper GTS Ceramic Blue Edition has an exclusive Ceramic Blue exterior with black stripes and Rattler wheels finished in Black Vapor Chrome. The model also has a Satin Black exhaust bezel, a Ceramic Blue fuel filler door, orange brake calipers and a carbon fiber rear applique.
The cabin is elegantly appointed with Nappa leather and Alcantara upholstery as well as silver accent stitching. There's also carbon fiber trim and GTS badging.
Production will limited to 40 units but there's no word on pricing.
If the aforementioned changes aren't enough, the 8.4-liter V10 engine has been upgraded to produce 645 bhp (481 kW) and 600 lb-ft (812 Nm) of torque - a minor increase of 5 bhp (3 kW). The six-speed manual transmission has also been improved and helps the model to return 20 mpg highway - an improvement of 1 mpg.
