2015 Honda HR-V and CR-V prototypes introduced in Paris
The 2015 Honda HR-V and CR-V facelift prototypes have arrived at the Paris Motor Show.
First up, the compact HR-V crossover is scheduled to go on sale in Europe next summer and promises to provide one of the roomiest and adaptable interior cabins in this segment. It's all possible thanks to the center fuel tank location and the installation of Honda Magic Seats providing several seating configurations, with the possibility of folding flat the rear seats whenever more cargo room is necessary.
The HR-V is going to be sold with 1.5-liter i-VTEC and 1.6-liter i-DTEC engines mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. Those who opt for the gasoline engine will also have the possibility of selecting a semi-automatic CVT.
As for the larger CR-V facelift, this one has received a moderate nip & tuck along with a 1.6-liter i-DTEC diesel engine rated at 160 HP (118 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft). It acts as a replacement for the 2.2-liter diesel motor and can be had exclusively with a four-wheel drive layout working with a six-speed manual or an all-new nine-speed automatic.
With the manual, CO2 emissions will be slashed by 11 percent compared to the previous configuration while the automatic model emits 20 percent less CO2. The front-wheel drive CR-V facelift will be powered by a 120 HP i-DTEC coupled to a manual gearbox and emitting 117 g/km of CO2. The 155 HP 2.0 i-VTEC gasoline engine will continue to work with the six-speed manual and the old five-speed automatic.
