Euro-spec Ford Edge debuts in Paris with a diesel engine
Ford has unveiled the Euro-spec Edge at the Paris Motor Show.

Set to go on sale next year, the model closely echoes the North American variant and features a prominent grille that is flanked by sweptback headlights. The crossover also has plastic body cladding, wraparound taillights and a sporty dual exhaust system.

Ford declined to go into specifics but confirmed the model will have an Adaptive Steering system which continually adjusts the steering ratio to match the vehicle speed to make the "Edge easier to maneuver and more fun to drive."

The model will also have an Active Noise Cancellation system which uses three microphones to detect offending noises. The system then sends an opposing sound wave through the audio system to cancel out the unwanted noise.

Under the hood, there's a 2.0-liter Duratorq TDCi diesel engine that is available in two different outputs. The entry-level variant produces 180 PS (132 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque, while the range-topping variant develops 210 PS (154 kW) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque.
