Jaguar XJ facelift spied virtually undisguised

Jaguar is putting the finishing touches on the 2015 / 2016 XJ as our spies have caught the model virtually undisguised.

 

Looking instantly recognizable, the facelifted model is distinguished by a new front bumper with restyled air intakes. Additional changes are limited but there's a new rear bumper and revised exhaust tips. The head- and taillights have also been camouflaged so they could be hiding some minor modifications.

 

Engine options are expected to carryover but there has been speculation about a plug-in hybrid variant. Nothing is official but Jaguar has previously unveiled an XJ_e prototype that featured a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, an electric motor and a lithium-ion battery pack. It enabled the model to produce a combined maximum output of 334 PS (245 kW).
