BMW & Lexus working on a new LFA
According to reports out of Japan, BMW and Lexus are working on a new LFA.
Reportedly separate from the previously announced BMW-Toyota sports car, the next-generation LFA is rumored to be a plug-in hybrid that borrows technology from the BMW i8. That's not much to go on but the model is slated to feature a powerful petrol engine and an electric motor.
There's no word on specifications but the car is rumored to be more powerful the previous LFA which featured a 4.8-liter V10 engine that developed 560 PS (412 kW) and 480 Nm (354 lb-ft) of torque. It enabled the coupe to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and hit a top speed of 325 km/h (202 mph).
There's no word on when the LFA will be launched but we're taking everything with a grain of salt as the BMW-Toyota rumor mill has been working overtime ever since the partnership was announced.
