Porsche working on Cayenne coupe, revived 928
The coupe-SUV is expected to debut in the next few months, while the Panamera-inspired two-door grand tourer is said to be slated for 2019.
Porsche is reportedly working on two new front-engine coupes, one based on the Cayenne and another related to the Panamera.
The Cayenne coupe is expected to be positioned as a rival to the BMW X6 and Mercedes GLE, according to AutoBild. It is unclear if designers are considering a two-door model or simply retaining four doors with a sleek coupe-like profile.
The company is also said to be working on a proper two-door grand tourer. It will likely be based on the Panamera and serve as a revived 928, potentially making its debut in 2019.
Engineers are also reportedly working on an all-electric Macan, confirmed as a "possibility" by Porsche Cars North America chief Klaus Zellmer.
The Cayenne coupe is expected to be the first to be revealed, perhaps as early as the Paris Motor Show this fall.
