Geneva LIVE: 2019 Volvo V60
Volvo revealed the 2019 V60 "in its natural habitat -- the driveway of a family home in Stockholm." We caught up with it at the Geneva Auto Show.
The redesigned V60 is underpinned by Volvo's Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) platform, shared with the new XC60 and 90-Series lineup.
Designers and engineers focused on revamping the interior for a more luxurious experience with more room, improved connectivity and Volvo's latest range of driver assistance and safety technologies. A Pilot Assist system supports steering, acceleration and braking duties on well-marked roads up to 80 mph, while the City Safety with Autobrake technology is claimed to be the only system on the market to recognize pedestrians, cyclists and large animals.
Two powertrains will be available in the US including a T5 FWD edition with 250 horsepower and a T6 AWD variant with 316 horsepower -- a modest 14-pony increase over the outgoing T6 R-Design.
Volvo has not yet announced pricing and availability details for the new V60.
