2019 Subaru Ascent Starts At $32,970, Arrives This Summer
Subaru has been using its Barkley family of spokesdogs to get out the marketing message about the Ascent, the company's new three-row SUV, but until now, the firm has been tight-lipped about the crossover's price. Subie now announces that the 2019 Ascent carries a base cost of $32,970 after $975 destination when the model goes on sale this summer.
Subaru will offer the Ascent in four trim levels: base, Premium, Limited, and Touring. All of the models share a new 2.4-liter turbocharged flat-four-cylinder engine with 260 horsepower (194 kilowatts) and 277 pound-feet (376 Newton-meters) of torque. It routes through an upgraded CVT with an eight-speed driving mode. All-wheel drive with torque vectoring is also standard.
Inside, all models comes with a 6.5-inch infotainment system with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. There's also four USB ports, three-zone automatic climate control, and 19 cup holders. The second and third rows of seats have a 60:40 split for maximum adaptability for carrying cargo. Optional second-row captain chairs are available at no-cost for higher level trims.
For $35,170, buyers can upgrade to the Premium trim and get some nicer amenities. The infotainment system grows to eight inches. Plus, the driver gets a power seat and leather-wrapped parts for the steering wheel and shift knob. Occupants in the rear have their own climate control.
The next step up the range is the Limited trim for $39,970. It includes all the Premium features and adds even more. On the outside, there's steering-responsive LED headlights, LED fog lights, additional chrome accents, and 20-inch wheels. The cabin features leather upholstery, a driver seat with adjustable thigh supports, second-row door sunshades, and power hatchback.
