Chicago LIVE: 2018 Chevrolet Traverse RS

The 2018 Chevrolet Traverse RS has made its first appearance at the Chicago Auto Show.The RS is the first Traverse variant to be powered by a turbocharged engine. The 2.0-liter four-cylinder mill delivers a seemingly modest 257 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque.

 

The fuel-sipping Ecotec engine is mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission, expected to fetch an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 20 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway.

 

The RS seems to be more of an appearance and comfort package than a performance crossover. Standard equipment includes HID headlamps, active shutters, an eight-inch infotainment system, heated seats, Bose audio, 20-inch dark wheels and blacked-out exterior trim.

 

The RS is available now with a $43,095 MSRP (including freight).
