继上周传出西亚特计划推出更高性能Leon Cupra改款车的消息之后，最近谍照记者拍到了这款掀背车的更高性能版照片。据最新传言，西亚特计划推出280马力车型以替代Leon Cupra 290并作为入门级车型。而该系列的顶级款功率为300马力，而这款车很有可能就是这次谍照记者拍到的车型。据接近车厂的人士透露，西亚特计划推出全驱版本，但只限于更实用的ST旅行车。不过，有媒体称，掀背车也将提供全驱版本，考虑到该车配备四个排气尾管，这一说法很可能会成为现实。另外，该车的前轮拱更宽，这表明该车的轮距增加，新车可能被命名为Leon Cupra R。而300马力功率加全驱硬件还将出现在Ateca Cupra，该车将于明年底发布。同时，Leon Cupra三门轿跑车、五门掀背车和旅行车的改款车型则将比普通版本晚一个月于明年2月亮相。除了功率增加10马力并提供全驱系统外，2017款Cupra还将对外观进行改款，低功率版本也将进行技术升级。这包括提供新的8英寸显示屏信息娱乐系统，交通拥堵辅助并支持智能手机无线充电功能。
It seems SEAT is cooking hotter Leon Cupra facelift
Hot on the heels of last week’s rumors of a stronger Leon Cupra, today we are bringing a fresh set of spy images showing what appears to be a more hardcore version of the already hot hatch. According to the latest gossip, SEAT has plans to drop the 280-hp model from the range in order to replace it with the Leon Cupra 290 to serve as the entry-level version. On top of it will sit a beefier 300-hp model and it’s likely the one we’re seeing here.
Sources close to the Spanish marque have also revealed plans for an all-wheel drive version, but only for the more practical ST wagon body style. However, Autocar is now saying the hatchback is going to receive the AWD treatment as well, and this might actually be it seeing as how it has quad exhaust tips much like its German brother, the VW Golf R. Also noticeable are wider front fenders and that might be a sign of beefier tracks for what could be called Leon Cupra R.
The same 300 horsepower + AWD hardware combo is expected to find its way inside the Ateca Cupra spotted testing several days ago and due to arrive before the end of 2017.
Meanwhile, the facelifted Leon Cupra in three-door coupe, five-door hatchback and wagon flavors will allegedly debut in February, following the regular model’s refresh introduced almost a month ago. Besides the extra 10 horsepower and AWD system, the 2017 Cupra models will also benefit from the same subtle cosmetic tweaks and tech updates implemented on the lesser versions of the range. These include a new 8-inch infotainment system, Traffic Jam Assist, and support for wireless smartphone charging.
