Paris preview: 2016 Opel Cascada Supreme

General Motors' Germany-based Opel division has introduced a more upscale version of the Cascada convertible named Supreme.

 

The Cascada Supreme is available in three colors called Pull Me Over Red, Summit White, or Black Meet Kettle, respectively. It receives a black grille, black mirror caps, and 20-inch alloy wheels with a gloss black finish. A handful of body-colored accents add a sporty touch to the look.

 

The cabin is inspired by the stunning GT Concept, according to Opel. It gets red stitching on the seats, the dashboard, and the door panels, as well as black stitching on the steering wheel and the center console, and piano black trim pieces. The list of options includes heated seats upholstered in Siena leather, and a three-spoke steering wheel.

 

There are no mechanical modifications to report. In Europe, the Cascada is available with a turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine rated at 140 horsepower, or with a 1.6-liter turbo four that makes 170 horses. A 170-horsepower 2.0-liter turbodiesel is also on the menu. The 1.4 and the oil-burner are bolted to a six-speed manual transmission, and the 170-horsepower gas engine shifts through a six-speed automatic with shift paddles.

 

Opel claims the Cascada Supreme is a limited-edition model, but it hasn't revealed how many examples will be built or how much each one will cost.
